Invisalign

Also known as the ‘invisible brace,’ Invisalign is becoming a very popular treatment option for straightening your teeth and for good reason. Our clients love the freedom they still have with Invisalign. You should wear the clear aligners for 22 hours per day for the best results. However, you can easily remove the aligners if you need to for a special event. You probably won’t feel the need to though as these clear aligners are virtually invisible.

Initially, we will scan your teeth with the Itero Digital Scanner. This provides a digital scan of the teeth and a detailed Clincheck treatment plan. At this stage, you can see how your teeth will look once the treatment is completed.

The clear aligners are tailor-made specifically for you. They will need to be changed every 2 weeks to the next set of aligners. These will gently but firmly move your teeth into the correct position. They can be used to treat tooth problems in the entire upper and bottom arches, including overcrowding, teeth rotations, and gaps.
As the treatment is highly tailored, it offers you targeted results. This means that treatment time can take as little as 6 months, although the average time is around 12 to 18 months. It depends on how far the teeth need to move.

You can remove the aligners to eat and drink, which means you can still eat all the foods you love, and also you can keep up with excellent oral hygiene habits, such as flossing and brushing with ease.

Six Month Smiles

This great treatment hails from the US and offers a discreet, efficient, and cost-effective teeth straightening option. The clever system focuses on just the front teeth on show when you smile. These braces are visible, unlike the ‘invisible’ treatments, but they are made using white-coloured braces, clear brackets, and nickel titanium wires, which allows them to be discreet and aesthetically pleasing.

As the braces are custom-made for the patient, they can give very predictable results. The treatment time is also considerably shorter than other braces, often seeing results in six months, hence the name!

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner uses a single clear wire to straighten your teeth and a lingual coil spring at the back of the teeth. It is barely visible and is often used to correct adult relapse and misaligned teeth. This clever design is also removable, which means the patient can take their braces out, should they wish to for an important occasion.

Similar to the Six Month Smile treatment, Inman Aligners treat just the top and bottom front teeth. They can correct overcrowding and rotating teeth. The system uses a lingual coil spring which adds pressure at the back of the teeth and the bar at the front of the teeth. These parts gently squeeze together, which pushes and pulls the teeth into the correct position.
Treatment can often be completed in as little as 8 to 16 weeks. Dr Ferakh Hamid is a certified Inman Aligner user and can certainly answer any further questions at a free consultation.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are similar in method to traditional ‘train track’ braces, using brackets and wires. However, the clever part about this system is that they are placed on the back of your teeth, rather than the front! This means they are barely visible, and they have the added benefit of moving the teeth very effectively.

Lingual braces are custom-made for every patient, ultimately achieving a high level of comfort for the wearer. These braces can combat complex teeth misalignment cases and unlike Inman Aligners and Six Month Smiles, they can treat the entire arches of the teeth, not just the front teeth on show.

Another added benefit of Inman Aligner is that if any white spots or discolouration occur, this will appear on the inside of the teeth where it can’t be seen.
