Regular dental implants would usually support a single crown, a dental bridge, or a set of dentures. However, 6-10 dental implants would be needed for a full arch. How does it work?
Before your treatment begins, we will provide you with some x-rays and occasionally a ct scan if necessary. This will determine the best course of treatment. The planning stages can take several weeks but then the actual fitting can take just one day. This speedy turnaround is why it is also sometimes known as ‘teeth in a day’ or ‘same day teeth’.
The four implants are placed in the dense bone in the front of the mouth. Two of the back implants are strategically angled towards the denser bone at the front of the jaw. This means surgery is normally not required. Once the implants are placed, a temporary set of teeth are fixed in place. These teeth are adjusted to provide the desired appearance and the healing process can begin. This healing process, (known as osseo-integration) takes 3-6 months where the implants fuse with the bone. Once this is complete, the final set of teeth are fitted, and you can say goodbye to those days of missing teeth.
